We will be diving at Trefor Pier weather permitting, if we have to cancel we can always go to Vivian (www.divevivian.com)
Directions to Trefor Pier North Wales
Get onto the M56 West bound - heading towards Chester and North Wales. Continue along the A55, North Wales coast road. The A55 will take you onto the A487 into Caernarfon then carry on the A487 towards Porthmadog shortly afterwards the road forks at a small roundabout – follow signs for Pwhelli on the A499.
Carry on through a small village called Gryn Goch and then look for turn on right to Trefor. It is a small road sign so keep eyes open.
As you enter Trefor take the next road on the right after the bus stop signed Beach Road. It is a small triangular shaped island and you more or less turn back on yourself.
Follow the road down to the sea front and park in large car park on the right in front of the beach. Please be considerate when parking as the car park also serves the local residents.
Some useful information about the site.
Diving around the pier usually has a max depth of about 7-8m, so not a deep dive. Recommend a single long dive.
Lots of life – spider crabs, eels, lobster, shrimps and lots of fish
Swim across the bay towards the pier but No diving under pier. A surface marker buoy (SMB) is required.
You will also need to bring along some food and drinks as the only facilities is a toilet block (which are kept nice and clean).
